Qross

Navigate a trivia grid corner to corner — wrong answers burn cells forever. Daily challenge, AI advisor, and 82 topics.

Qross is a trivia game where your moves through a colorful grid are the puzzle. You pick a corner, answer a question to claim it, then work your way across to the opposite corner — one cell at a time. Every cell holds a question tied to a topic, color-coded so you can see the landscape ahead and plan your route.

The catch: wrong answers burn a cell permanently. You keep your spot but lose that path forever. That one geography question you skipped might be the wall that traps you on the last row.

Choose from 4×4 up to 8×8 boards across 82 topics — science, history, pop culture, and dozens more. Before each game you pick 2 to 6 topics you actually want to answer, so the board feels like yours. Three variants keep things interesting: Face Up shows you every question before you commit, Face Down hides them until you're adjacent, and Blind removes all color clues so you're navigating by instinct alone.

A daily challenge drops the same board for everyone worldwide, once per day. Your streak ticks up whether you win or lose — just play. Seventeen unlockable achievements track the unusual and the impressive, from your first perfect diagonal to finishing a Blind mode 8×8.

When you're stuck, the AI Move Advisor scans every available cell and suggests where to go next, complete with a Safe / Caution / Risky rating and a plain-English explanation of why. On devices with Apple Intelligence, it tells you exactly which paths lead to dead ends and which open up room to maneuver. You can turn it off entirely in Fast Game mode if you prefer the pure puzzle.

Send a board to a friend with a six-character challenge code. They play the same layout from the same starting corner, and you compare scores. Lower is better — the scoring formula is moves plus twice your wrong answers plus hint penalties, so a clean run stands out.

A full offline question cache (270,000+ questions in SQLite) means you can play your next game on the plane. Questions sync quietly in the background when you're back online, keeping the pool fresh.

Made by one developer and a lot of careful playtesting. Every board you finish helps make the next one better.
